•½ cup raw almonds
•½ cup roasted almonds
•3 tbsp cup carob powder
•½ tsp salt
•2 tbsp oil
•3-4 tbsp honey or 3-4 tbsp sugar
•2 tbsp flaxseed meal, optional
•2 tbsp milk
1.In a food processor or a blender, process almonds and oil. It takes more than 10 minutes to get the consistency so be patient.
2.Add carob powder, honey or sugar, flaxseed meal (optional), milk, and salt. Process for another minute or until it is well mixed.
3.To store, transfer the spread to a bowl, jar, or container and keep it in the fridge.
4.You may use all raw or all roasted nuts.
5.Nutelle is a famous and delicious hazel nut spread in Italy and America. The original recipe calls for hazel nuts. I use almonds instead of hazel nuts because hazel nuts are hard to find in the town where I live. You may use cashew nuts or any nuts of your preference.
