Molasses


 

A thick, dark, heavy syrup which is a by-product of sugar refining. It is less sweeter than syrup or honey. The darker the molasses, the less sugar it contains. Molasses has a slightly bitter flavor. It also used to make Rich fruit cakes, Ginger Bread and Treacle toffee.
