Lemon Orange Bars


 

Ingredients
For the Crust
•All purpose flour…………………………. 2 C
•Confectioners' sugar / icing sugar…. ½ C
•Ground almonds…………………………. ½ C
•Butter, melted……………………………. 1 C
For the Filling
•Yogurt………………………………..½ C
•Sugar………………………………… 2 C
•Fresh orange juice………………. 1/3 C
•All purpose flour………………… ¼ C
•Baking powder…………………… 1 Tsp
•Grated lemon peel……………….. ½ Tsp
•Grated orange peel……………… 1 Tsp
•Sliced almonds……………………. ½ C
Preparation
1)In a mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the crust and press into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 F/180 C for 10-15 minutes or until the edges turn brownish in color.
2)For filling; in a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients for the filling and beat until frothy. Pour over hot crust and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
3)Bake at 350 F/ 180 C for 25-30 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool on a wire rack and when warm enough to handle, cut into pieces
