There are more than seven thousand different kinds of rice. The three most common kinds are long grain, short grain, and medium grain. It is the staple food of almost whole world. Rice ranges from brown, white, red, blue, purple, and even striped in color. It can also be used to make flour, pudding, bread, cakes, and even candy. Rice is primarily a high-energy calorie food.
