Rye is a cereal grain and also known as Secale cereale which looks like wheat but is longer and more slender. Rye's color varies from yellowish brown to grayish green. It is very hardy, deep, nourishing taste. Store rye in an airtight container in a cool, dry and dark place where it will keep for several months.
