Simple Home Style Bread
Ingredients
•3 Tsp ………………………………….Active dry yeast
•¾ C …………………………………..Warm water
•1 Tsp ………………………………….Sugar
•2 Tbsp ………………………………..Oil
•2½ C ………………………………….All purpose flour
•1 Tsp ………………………………….Salt
Preparation
1) In a mixing bowl, combine tahe yeast, ¼ cup of warm water and sugar in a bowl. Let it stand for 5-10 minutes or until frothy.
2) Stir in the remaining warm water and oil. Add 1 cup of the flour,salt and beat until smooth. Stir in the remaining flour to from a smooth dough. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in size, about 40-45 minutes.
3) Punch down the dough. Turn onto a floured surface and shape into a loaf. Place in a 9-in x 5-in x 3-in loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 40-45 minutes.
4) Bake in a preheated oven at 400 F/200 C for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
