Home made Mawas Diwali fire crackers

Ingredients
. 500 ml Full fat cream (2.5 cups)
2.5 cups milk powder
1 tin Condensed milk (400gms)
Makes about 3.5-4 cups of Mawa

Preparation
In a thick bottomed pan, mix cream and Milk powder well. No lumps should be there. Heat on full flame for 5 minutes. Keep stirring. Reduce flame to medium heat and add condensed milk.
Stir well and cook till the liquid evaporates and thick mawa is formed. (takes approx 20-30 minutes)
To check: drop a little piece of mawa in  water, if it forms a soft ball then its ready, hence put off the gas, but if it dissolves in the water, then cook for few minutes and keep checking this way till done.

To make Diwali fire crackers like lars/ladees and Chakras
Take 1/4 cup mawa and add red color and 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Similarly in another 1/4 cup add green color and 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
And in another 1/4 cup add yellow color and 4-5 saffron strands dissolved in 1/2 tsp yellow color

To make  Ladee/Lars-
Roll the Red mawa in a thick rectangle shape in between 2 plastic sheets. Make slits on either side as shown in the picture with the help of a toothpick.
Roll the green mawa in two thin cylindrical shapes. Twist it around each other. Put it in the center of the red mawa.
Lo behold the fire cracker Ladee is ready.

To make Chakras-
Take round cream biscuits.
Make thin cylindrical rolls of any colored mawa
Roll it around the biscuit and on top of it, putting the end outside the biscuit in a pointed shape as shown in the picture.
The Chakras are ready

You can serve as it is or decorate a cupcake with it.
